Genmac Wrapper for rtl8168

Hello,
GenMac v2.20.
driver: WRAPPER_10EC_8168 - rtenicxp.sys
asus m3a78-em mb w/rtl8168 LAN adapter

The program installed and runs fine.
My question is: How do I convince the driver to select 1000Mb/s
transfer? The hardware is capable at both ends. Yet 100MB/s is always chosen.
Is there a way to force 1Gb/s?

Not sure if it's possible to select the 'forced modes' when using Genmac but in
general it's not advisable to force the link modes/speed. If you do not force
_both_ sides to the same speed it's perfectly possible (and within the
standards!) that you get no link at all. AFAIR 1000Base-TX devices have to have
Auto-negotiation capability and this should be used in nearly any case.

Another thought - are you sure your cables and connectors are CAT5e at least?

Yes. And the cable length is two meters. The host is next to the switch.

There's a thread at gmane.org.netlabs.genmac.user about this chip and 1Gb. Maybe
it's worth to ask there.
